In this era of increasing globalization, we want to offer you a unique cultural journey, the result of local collaboration between Phnom Penh artistic community and the iconic Raffl es Le Royal.
This month we are thrilled to invite you to embark for a journey with Im Pesey.

A journey with Im Pesey

Im Pesey is a Cambodian artist known for his subtle yet emotionally rich paintings that evoke the harmony of music and the serenity of everyday life, inspired by Cambodian culture and history. Traveling with Im Pesey is like opening the door to nostalgia. The artist highlights the sweet fl avor of memories and reminds us of the preciousness of moments gone by. Drawing from personal life experiences, his art refl ects the deep connection between emotion and creativity. His style is marked by soft pastels, delicate brushstrokes, and warm impressionistic tones which invites viewers into peaceful worlds of memory and introspection. Through his works, he questions the passing of time and what remains: an emotion, a sensation. Memory plays tricks on us and becomes a pretext for daydreaming. We wander through Im Pesey's works as we would leaf through an album of memories or listen to music from our childhood. The series of traditional musicians is part of this back-and-forth between the past and the present. The music passes, but art and emotion remain. In a rapidly changing world, Im Pesey brings us back to a quest for introspection and quiet listening.
